Is Drone A Weapon???
I was almost mistaken for a terrorist at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja. Almost I said because this is the first time I had ever been accosted at the airport and subjected to search and had to part ways with my drone while I seat in an aircraft.
So, this story is short and equally alarming. On my arrival at the airport, I was trying to check-in the machine flagged my bad to have contained a weapon. I was called aside to identify my bag, well as a Yoruba boy “fear catch me ” but as a big boy I walked up to them and identified my bag ( a drone bag)
Now the drama started when I was told to check it in as a weapon 🙄🙄 I was like: are you serious when did a drone become a weapon of mass destruction.
Well I had to obey and check it in now I wait till I claim it when in Lagos finger crossed 😒😒
…. Hours Later …
So you know my flight was delayed for 2 hours. Boom, I was called to come and claim my drone before boarding, and the air representative apologized and handed over my suppose weapon of mass destruction to me
I write this blog out of my fear that I might never see my drone again owing to the fact that you cant trust Nigeria Mode of Operation. The lesson here is simple, try to avoid flying with your drone and if you must make sure you ask questions and obey the aviation officers, they might just know what is right, and ask questions again
